Come paint with TAP-Seattle and explore your artistic side! This is an event for ALL painting skill levels!!

We’ll be painting a beautiful koi pond. Canvas, brush, and paint will be provided. Bring your own apron (or paint very carefully). Red bean soup with tang yuan and tea will be served. (For celebrating Lantern Festival/Yuan Xiao/元宵)

Hurry up and sign up, as the capacity is limited to 25 painters. A waitlist will be available once the capacity is filled.

Schedule:
Check-in & networking: 2:30pm – 3pm
Instructions & painting time: 3pm – 4:30pm
Wrap up/picture taking: 4:30pm – 5pm

We will guide you through all the steps to paint the koi pond of your dream (so no worries if you’ve never painted before). You are encouraged to add your own personal touch to it. We will also be presenting trivia facts about all things Lunar New Year!

Come help feed the most vulnerable citizens with TAP-Seattle at FareStart, a culinary job training and placement program for homeless and disadvantaged individuals. FareStarts delivers meals 365 days a year to several area homeless shelters. We have 5 spots available to help prepare meals. Chefs will assign tasks based on individual skill and comfort level.

We ask that you commit to volunteering for the entire time, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We also ask that in the case of cancellation you provide us with as much notice as possible—this is very important as we need a certain number of volunteers to produce meals and often need to recruit replacements.

Come join TAP-Seattle for TAPpy Hour at Fort St George Japanese and American fusion cuisine. Network and mingle with other young professionals. Fort St George menu offers hamburger spaghetti, Japanese curry, kimchi fried rice, and many more creative dishes, where east west come together that will surprise your senses.

Kick off the inaugural Seattle Taiwanese American Film Festival with trailers of our featured films, and shorts by Taiwanese American talents. Followed by a panel discussion. The short films selected are Pool to Table, Color Positive, Never Let You Go, Patriotic Lottery, and The Blue Jet.

AR and VR equipment for Taiwanese traditional puppetry (from Father 紅盒子 film) will be available this event!

Shorts synopsis:
Pool to Table – Director: Tim Cheng. A documentary short about indoor shrimping, an all-ages pastime that’s found a following in Taiwan over the past three decades.

Color Positive – Director: Jessie Lee. After her father passes away, an emotionally distant woman returns home, only to struggle for closure.

Never Let You Go – Director Remii Huang. Emma bought her mom a robot to help her recover after a major car accident.

Patriotic Lottery – Director: Lian Kien Hui. A fun behind the scene of those fun Patriotic Lottery, through the eyes of artist Lin.

The Blue Jet – Director: Lawrence Le Lam. Set in 1970s Taiwan, this short is about legendary radio DJ, Blue Jet, who broadcasted banned rock and avoided the secret youth police.
