Synopsis:
Although it has a “2” in title, this rise-and-fall gangster saga about ambition and revenge is a stand-alone must-see. Gatao (gang leader) Ren values integrity and loyalty; however, he gets entangled in all-out gang war when his old friend Jian reappeared after serving time. What will happen when former friends turned enemies? How internal tensions can complicate the battle to be the boss?
Director Yen Cheng-Kuo, a former child star, who narrowly escaped the death penalty and instead served 10 years in prison for kidnapping. “Perhaps that life experience helped spawn this gritty, mean spirited tale” which places Taiwan firmly back on the gangster-cinema map. Mr. Yen hopes to utilize this film to share his personal experience and serve as a lesson for young students to not follow
his mistakes.
一開始是地方人士調解鄰里糾紛，保衛地方不受外人侵侮，挺身而出，因漸受眾人尊重，終成鄰里間之意見領袖，以人情、鄰里道義、忠誠為出發，稱之「角頭」。因為地方上人才良莠不齊，某些佔地為王、為惡，亦稱「角頭」。但延伸至今，角頭一詞漸被汙名化，淪為地下社會一隅之代名詞。《角頭2-王者再起》延續《角頭》「今天公祭，明天忘記」、「歹路不可行」的警世主旨，導演顏正國以過來人的身分表示，「拍攝黑幫電影，是想以自身成長經驗中所付出的代價警惕年輕學子不宜輕易以身試法，黑道險惡難行。」
