Synopsis:
Pickle, a night security guard at a Buddha statue factory, and his friend Belly Button spend a lot of time together having late night snacks and watching television. One day when the television breaks, their lives are changed forever. At first, they watch the footage recorded on their boss’s dash cam for fun, but soon they get addicted to peeping into his colorful private life and accidentally discover an unspeakable secret.
In 2017, The Great Buddha+ was nominated for numerous awards at the 54th Golden Horse Awards, taking home top honors for Best New Director.
一名在佛像工廠值班的夜間警衛，與他撿破爛的換帖兄弟，平時沒事就會在警衛室一起看電視聊天。他們有天偷看有錢董事長的行車紀錄器，卻莫名捲入一個政商勾結、情慾橫流、驚天動地的超完美謀殺計畫。
全片大多數時間以黑白畫面呈現，象徵低端人口「黑白人生」的處境與命運，上層政經人士的荒誕日常，則以彩色畫面為主，藉此批判台灣社會目前物慾橫流情況。
