——————————————————-
Having trouble finding jobs or internships? Submitting tons of resumes but never getting any response? Look no further, come to TYAPN for all the help you need!
As international students, we definitely have it harder when it comes to finding jobs in America, and as the amount of international students increase over the years the difficulty only grows as well. Then comes the question: How can we overcome this? The answer is a well constructed resume. If done correctly, it will become the key that helps you grasp that dream job by outshining your competitors. With emphasis on special qualities and unique abilities, HR will be much more inclined to choose you!
How, though, to piece together the perfect resume is the critical skill, but don’t fret, as TYAPN is here to help! We have invited experts from various fields to provide specific advice for constructing your resume. Our Resume Workshop will also host speakers to share their resume tips and application experiences to smooth your path out. To be effective and efficient, we will have grouped discussions based on field of work as well as a dedicated Q&A session for any questions!
To top things off, we provide drinks and snacks during this workshop, so get ready for a good time while polishing out your new, shiny resume!

◼️Fireside AMA: Abigail Hing Wen
Abigail Hing Wen lives 3 lives:
1. A Senior Director of Emerging Tech (AI and VC) in the Office of the CTO at Intel
2. A NY Times best-selling author and now an executive producer
3. A wife and mother of two boys
Join us in a virtual fireside AMA with Abigail Hing Wen where she unpacks navigating all three facets of life as she makes waves as a creative public figure in bringing diverse stories to mainstream media with her new debut novel, “Loveboat, Taipei”. Released in January, the book has hit the NY Times Best Seller list and is optioned for film in Hollywood by ACE Entertainment (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”). Hear about the journey of writing, working with book publishers, and making difficult decisions on what makes the final book cover.
◼️About “Loveboat, Taipei”
“Loveboat, Taipei” is a young adult Crazy Rich Asians meets a Jane Austen comedy of manners, inspired by the actual cultural exchange program in Taipei attended by many Asian-American teens since the 1960s. The romp is woven through with an immigrant girl’s coming-of-age story, of navigating family complexities, discovering identity in all its facets and finding love.
The book was one of HarperCollins’ largest acquisitions over the past few years and has been optioned for film in Hollywood by ACE Entertainment (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”). It is a Barnes and Noble Young Adult Book Club pick and, along with Abigail, has been featured in print and television, including Entertainment Weekly, Bloomberg, South China Morning Post and The World Journal, among others.
◼️Partnerships
Loveboat Taipei is partnering with TACL, TAP, ITASA, GLO, Anchor Taiwan, and Crushing the Myth to showcase the story of how Abigail balances her life as a former leader, executive in AI and VC in Silicon Valley, a writer, and a mom.
